Get new GUIDs using Aras AML Studio

Requirement: Get  3 new GUIDs, which are not used in Aras Innovator.
Solution:
Open NASH
Ex: http://localhost/innovator/Client/scripts/nash.aspx
Login using admin or root
Under Action select: GenerateNewGUIDEx (Instead of ApplyAML())
Under XML: type below. quantity="3" mean it will return, 3 new GUIDs

Aras Innovator disable a control after save

How to disable a control after save?
Prerequisites: Control property should be required field.
Solution:

Create new Item Type ex: TestItem

Add new properties

Ex: test1, test2 as string data type

Add new JS method: Ex: MyTest

For textbox control:

Under View, open TestItem form
Lock TestItem form
Click on  "Form Event"
Add method by click on +
Search for "MyTest"
Under Event, select "onFormPopulated"

Testing:
Create new item
Enter value for test1

Hit on Save
Now test1 control will be disable

Deploy the change to the installed code tree on the server.
Edit the web.config file in the Client folder.

Expand Logins
Right click on  innovator_regular user
Select Properties
Click on User Mapping
check under Map for your data base
Check db_owner

Go to IIS
Expand Sites-->Default Web Site

Select your Innovator web site: ex: InnovatorServer

Right click on InnovatorServer

Select Explore

You will land at : C:\Program Files (x86)\Aras\Innovator\Innovator

Go one folder up

C:\Program Files (x86)\Aras\Innovator

You will find InnovatorServerConfig.xml

In the above file data base connection string will be there

Open InnovatorServerConfig.xml file in notepad administrator mode

you will find <DB-Connection

in the above line, you can change db server and name

Solution:

You are missing “Assigned Creator” value for a Item, first provide “Assigned Creator” value, then try to promoteitem.

Delete Client Cache from Aras innovator

Open Aras innovator
Go to Tools --> Admin -->Clear Client Metadata Cache
Delete any IE temporary files 

Aras innovator enabling logging

Go to Innovator server.

Open: InnovatorServerConfig.xml

Note: This will be log each action, so after logging your action set back to “false”

You will see all the logs (AML) which are sending to aras

Aras debugging

Add this in innovatorconfig.xml

in method add this: if (System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch()) System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break();

when we call method, it will open VS and run debugging
if VS is not opened,
Open VS as admin
Click Tools
Click Attach process
Click Show processes for all users
Search for  w3wp.exe
select right w3wp.exe (should be innovator, not vault)
Attach
OK

Now you will get debugging

The property item_number must be common to all sources or the property item_number has inappropriate data type

Solution: With poly items, each property called out in the poly item must exist in all of the item types added to it and have the same type in all of the item types

Ex: If you are adding Part, Manufacturer Part and Manufacturer as Poly Sources for Poly item.
Then you should delete Item_number, manufacturer_id and Name from properties under Poly Item.
Mean you should add properties which are common to all Poly Items
