Problem: In SharePoint when you upload a document or create a list, the url of that one will be too long.
So to overcome that we can creae Shaort URL.
Advantage: Short URL is easy to remember and easy to refer and easy to share others.
Solution:
To get SharePoint Short URL, we need to activate one SharePoint feature.
Go to Site Settings
Click on Manage site features (Under Site Actions)
Activate ShortURL features
Now go to list or library
Click on Library
Libraray Settings
Under General Settings You will see ShortURL
If you want to get ShortURL for document, open document libraray
Go to ECB menu of any document
You will find ShortURL
