How to Map a Master Page Gallery in SharePoint 2013
Go to SharePoint site
Click on Settings
Click on Design Manager
Click on Upload Design Files
Copy Master Page Url:
Ex: https://............./_catalogs/masterpage/
Open WIndows explorer
Right Click on Computer
Select Map Network Drive..
in the FOlder:
Text box Enter your Master page URL
If you get Error: Windows Cannot Access ..
Reason for above error:
This error occurs because of a missing feature “Desktop Experience” in Windows Server 2012. Lets look at the options to add this feature and add Master Page gallery as a Network drive
Solution:
Click Start, Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
Scroll through the list of services and verify that the WebClient service is started.
If the WebClient service name is not present you must install the Desktop Experience Windows feature.
To install Windows Desktop Experience
Click Start, Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
Right-click on the Features node and then click Add Features.
In the Add Feature Wizard, check Desktop Experience.
Click Next and install the feature. The installation may take some time.
Right-click the Web Client service and then click Properties.
On the General tab, set the Startup Type to Automatic.
